Gene died in 1971, and this is the closest his diehard fans will ever get to finding six new CDs of their man in his prime...and the closest they'll ever get to attending a Gene Vincent session. Yes, it's outtakes, but it gives us a chance to hear Gene Vincent's artistry in-the-making. You're there, up in the control room listening to him try a song one way, then another. You can second-guess the producers and listen to the musicians talk it through. If you know every note of the finished song, you can hear how Gene and the Blue Caps got there and share in the decisions along the way. This is truly it. The SCREAMING END. There are no more Gene Vincent recordings to be released in any way, shape, or form. Diehard fans, musicologists, musicians, and old time rock 'n' rollers looking for something new have waited too long for this. The sessions date from October 1958 to March 1967. All known Gene Vincent outtakes are included. Only a tiny fraction of this material has ever been issued before. The highlights include eleven songs from his final sessions with the legendary Blue Caps spread over CDs 1 & 2, including favourites like You Are The One For Me, Rip It Up,Maybelline and Gone, Gone, Gone. Multiple takes of eight songs from his Capitol Studios sessions of January 1961 are included on CDs 2-4, while CDs 4-5 feature Gene Vincent recording in London 1961-63 (six titles from Abbey Road Studios, two from Olympic Sound Studios, and one from a JOE MEEK session for the 'Live It Up' movie soundtrack). The final CD contains material from his 1966-67 sessions in Hollywood for Challenge Records. Gene que je viens de découvrir et elles devraient combler de
nombreux fans !

Ce sont bien sur des alternatives qui font voir le travail de l'artiste mais quel plaisir.:245:

Etes vous au courant de l'existence d'une bande d'un show de 56 a Vegas ou Gene ferait un boeuf avec Sinatra ?

La rumeur initiale fait état d'un enregistrement radio de Mark Lamar en 56 lors d'une soirée avec Sinatra et Gene...
Contacté il y a peu, Lamar avoue n'avoir aucun souvenir de cela en répondant "Ce serait super mais ça relève du mythe" !
A classer dans la rubrique "bruits de couloir" comme bien d'autres rumeurs sans fondement...
